Today we were on the bus on our way to Port Elizabeth. Yesterday night, we stayed at Eagle’s Nest and enjoyed the wonderful view of the lake and mountains behind it. The place was so beautiful it was so hard to say goodbye. Our hosts were so kind, generous, and welcoming. Upon leaving Eagle’s Nest our bus driver, Farouk impressed us yet again with his driving skills while maneuvering through the narrow drive way. After that we drove for four hours but it didn’t seem that bad because we drove past a lot of beautiful scenery and had multiple rest stops. One of the rest stops was The Bloukrans Bridge, one of Africa’s highest bridges. While we were there we had some nice sandwiches which were prepared by our hosts at Eagle’s Nest, then we watched in awe as people bravely bungy jumped off the bridge. Afterwards, we continued our journey to Port Elizabeth. Our long drive concluded as we arrived at the Sumcay Retreat Centre.

Once we got there, we had a meeting where we discussed rules, and then had a tour of the centre. Sumcay overlooks a beautiful river with a super cool ropes course. Also on the property, is a basketball court, a pool and two trampolines. After the tour we were given our room assingnmets, and then went back outside to play. At 7 o’clock we went to the dining hall and had chicken and rice with salad that was prepared by four amazing chefs. After dinner, we went back outside and played a very informal yet entertaining game of basketball. After an hour and a half of free time, we went into the meeting room and played games against the other family groups [Rhinos, Leopards, Elephants, Buffalos, Lions]. We played many rounds of trivia which included categories like: Disney songs, US History, and BCS trivia. We also had challenges like: "chubby bunny" and "shave the balloon". After that, we were given a little more free time then we settled into our rooms and went to sleep. It was such a fun night!
